Argentina uses £6,000 drones to catch the tax-cheats to the tune of £1.2million

Argentina has hit upon a unique and novel method to track tax-cheats dailymail.co.uk – it is the military style drones that are programmed to fly over huge mansions in Buenos Aires and take photographs of swimming pools and other such items within the boundaries.
In case the owners have not declared these assets in their income tax summaries, the Law would move in.
This way, tax evaders in Argentina are being spotted and the drones have identified around 200 mansions and 100 swimming pools in the area around Buenos Aires that have not been declared by their owners.
The unmanned aircraft flew over an exclusive neighborhood near the capital city and snapped photographs of luxury houses on sites that are registered as being empty.
It seems these unregistered mansions and pools were located in an area about 10 miles south of the city and, as per records of the tax agency, they appeared to be large and constructed with 'premium materials' and the owners have been told to get their papers in order and prepare to pay hefty fines.
Incidentally, the tax evaded has been estimated at a total of £1.2million and cost of each drone is around £6,000 - the technology is also often used by Argentine security forces.
