Prime Minister of Ukraine feels Russia wants to eliminate Ukraine from the map

Arseniy Yatsenyuk, the Prime Minister of Ukraine perceives Russia as a monster that wants to gobble up Ukraine and restore the Soviet Union by eliminating Ukraine from the map bbc.com.
He has said that Ukraine was "still in a stage of war" with the "key aggressor" being Russia and even as Ukraine and Western countries accuse Russia of intervening and extending support to the pro-Russian rebels in eastern Ukraine, Russia continues to deny this.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk has revealed that Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to take the entire Ukraine and has added that NATO was the "only vehicle" that can protect Ukraine. Of course, he has also indicated that Ukraine could not join the alliance in the short term.
A fragile ceasefire has been in place since 5 September but there are reports of Russian customs officials that a Russian aid convoy had crossed into eastern Ukraine. A similar convoy had entered the country last month without permission from Ukraine and it had sparked condemnation from the US and the EU.
The US government has imposed new sanctions on major Russian banks, defense and energy companies and due to these sanctions, US citizens will not be able to provide loans lasting longer than 30 days to Sberbank, Russia's biggest bank. The sanctions would also affect Rostec, a major technology and defense firm, and technology for Russia's oil industry. The Russian foreign ministry has denounced the new sanctions and have termed them as another hostile step in line with the confrontational course that is being taken by the US, and has promised retaliatory measures.
