Shooting in Miami nightclub leaves at least 15 wounded – many are teenagers

Once again gun related violence has been reported from Miami edition.cnn.com – at least fifteen people, many of them teenagers and some as young as 11, suffered injuries when shooting broke out in the Miami nightclub Spot located at NW 64th Street and Seventh Avenue at around 1am.
As revealed by police spokeswoman Frederica Burden, the victims ranged in age from 11 to 25 and were taken to area hospitals. There is no indication as to whether the nightclub catered to teenagers and why so many youths 16 and younger were inside a nightclub.
It seems a large party was being held when shooting broke out and, according to witnesses, they had heard about 100 gunshots. The club had, apparently, begun to allow teen parties on the weekends.
Incidentally, a Miami-Dade County curfew makes it illegal for children below the age of 17 to be out on their own between midnight and 6 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. For other days, the curfew is 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
