Serbia arrests seven men linked to 1995 massacre of over 1000 Muslims

#serbia #srebrenica #holocust After a period of 20-years, the Serbian police have arrested seven persons who are accused of taking part in the slaughter of over 1,000 Muslims at a warehouse on the outskirts of Srebrenica in 1995. Tis has been reported in bbc.com dated 18 March 2015.
Serbia had, earlier, detained men who were not directly involved in the killings and the seven now arrested are among the first as revealed by the Serbian and Bosnian prosecutors. It may be recalled that in 2011, it had handed over former Bosnian Serb commander Ratko Mladic to an international court – he had been accused of masterminding the massacre. He is at present being tried in The Hague along with former Bosnian Serb President Radovan Karadzic.
Nearly 8,000 Bosnian men and boys were killed in Srebrenica over three days in the worst atrocity on European soil since the Holocaust and these killings happened a few months before the end of the Bosnian war. At that time, nearly 20,000 refugees had fled to Srebrenica to escape Serb forces.
One of the arrested is believed to be Nedeljko Milidragovic, the commander who was known as "Nedjo the Butcher" – he has, since then, become a successful businessman in Serbia.
