Roof of London double decker bus ripped off under 12-ft high rail bridge

The roof of a double decker bus in London was ripped off when it struck a 12ft-high railway bridge on Portland Road in South Norwood. Seven people are believed to have been injured in the accident as reported in dailymail.co.uk dated 20 July 2015.
Fortunately, no one was seriously hurt in the smash that happened in the evening. Out of the seven injured persons, four were shifted to Croydon University Hospital including three patients who had minor injuries.
The Route 197 bus was going to Peckham and it does not usually pass the bridge on its route, obviously, it had taken a diversion at the time and the driver may not have been aware of the risks involved.
The bus was operated by Arriva and the collision with a bridge occurred at the junction of Portland Road and Clifford Road.
