An official of the local district government has confirmed that the bombings have left 56 people dead and another 57 wounded. The attacks had been carried out simultaneously by two schoolgirls.

These suicide bomb attacks happen across northeast Nigeria and in neighboring Cameroon and Niger. The jihadist group has so far killed some 15,000 people and forced more than two million people to flee their homes.
