This has been reported in news.sky.com dated 27 July 2015.
The police have arrested eleven people in this regard following the discovery of the decomposed body of the child from a bush in the Kudiya village in Nawalparasi district. This borders with India. The boy had been reported missing for three days.
It seems the father of a sick man had admitted to the killing – he had done it "to chase away the evil spirits" from his ailing son and he did it after seeking advice from a village shaman.
As per his confession, he lured the boy with the help of neighbors to a secluded spot by offering him a pack of biscuits and the equivalent of 30p. Then he carried out the religious rites, killed the boy and dumped the body in a bush.
The man, his brother and the shaman are among those arrested.
Incidentally, more than 80% of Nepal's 28 million people are Hindus and sacrificing animals like goats or buffaloes to appease the gods is not unnatural.
