Iran gets ready to launch its Somorgh missile into outer space

Iran is apparently getting ready to launch a new long-range rocket into outer space as soon as this weekend. This missile is known as a Simorgh and officials have indicated that they have not seen this specific type of rocket launched in the past. Incidentally, any test of a new ballistic missile would be in violation of a UN resolution that forbids Iran from working on its rocket program.
The Somorgh rocket was first unveiled in 2010.

A Simorgh rocket is designed to carry a satellite into space and officials are concerned because any space launch uses the same technology that is needed to launch a nuclear-tipped intercontinental ballistic missile or ICBM. Iran has launched multiple ballistic missiles on one day for the first time since 2012 as revealed by defense officials.
UN Security Council Resolution 2231 states that Iran is “not to undertake any activity related to ballistic missiles designed to be capable of delivering nuclear weapons, including launches using such ballistic missile technology.”
However, a senior Revolutionary Guard commander has indicated that Iran's ballistic missile program will continue to move forward, in spite of threats of international sanctions.
The U.S. State Department, of course, has said that the recent launches were not in violation of the nuclear deal, but it was “inconsistent” with UN Security Council Resolution 2231 since that was linked to the nuclear deal when it went into effect.

#northkorea #rocketlaunch Ignoring warnings from the international community, North Korea has launched a long-range rocket which is believed to be carrying a satellite. This has been informed by defense ministry of South Korea. This action by north Korea is in defiance of United Nations sanctions.

The US Strategic Command has indicated that it had detected what it called a missile entering space - this would appear to quash earlier media reports that it might have failed during flight. The rocket had been launched in a southward trajectory and Japan's Fuji Television Network showed a streak of light heading into the sky. This image had been taken from a camera at China's border with North Korea.
North Korea has been barred under UN sanctions from using ballistic missile technology. But, it had notified UN agencies that it planned to launch a rocket carrying an Earth observation satellite. This led to opposition from governments who interpret it as a long-range missile test. The UN Security Council was likely to hold an emergency meeting to discuss the developments.
Incidentally, North Korea had given a February 8-25 time frame for the launch but changed it to February 7-14. The United States was tracking the rocket launch and, in its opinion, it did not believe that it posed a threat to the United States or its allies.
North Korea is isolated in the world and insists that it has a sovereign right to pursue a space program. It last launched a long-range rocket in December 2012 to send into orbit an object which it had described as a communications satellite.

This is because some dead bodies have cavities where the kidneys should have been giving rise to speculations that these had been removed. The United Nations are investigating this aspect that ISIS was engaged in "harvesting organs from slain civilians and gaining financial benefits by trafficking the body parts."
Iraq’s ambassador to the UN Mohamed Alhakim has revealed that some of the bodies were found to be mutilated from which it can be concluded that body parts are missing. The ISIS terrorist groups have committed the most heinous criminal terrorist acts against the Iraqi people irrespective of whether they belong to Shia, Sunni, Christians, Turkmen, Shabak or Izadis.
The outgoing UN envoy to Iraq, Nikolay Mladenov, has informed the Security Council that a total of 790 people were killed in January alone by terrorism and armed conflict.

John Kerry says North Korea prison camps are evil and must be closed down

US Secretary of State, John Kerry wants that North Korea should shut down its “evil system” of prison camps in view of findings of a UN commission that has estimated that between 80,000 and 120,000 political prisoners are being held in four large camps theguardian.com.
In these camps, deliberate starvation has been used as a means of control and punishment.
Kerry’s comments to a gathering of foreign officials and activists come against the backdrop of the findings of a UN commission of inquiry that has concluded in February that North Korea’s authoritarian government had committed crimes against humanity.
Kerry has said that the abuses have been detailed in the commission’s 400-page report and “have no place in the 21st century” and has added that the US would work with the European Union, Australia, Japan, South Korea and other nations on a strong UN resolution to carry forward the commission’s recommendations on North Korea.
Of course, North Korea’s main ally China, is likely to block any attempt to refer the case to the international criminal court since it holds veto power as a permanent member of the UN Security Council. But, diplomatic pressure on Pyongyang could mount.

Australia joins the war against ISIS – will send 600 troops to UAE

Prime Minister Tony Abbott of Australia has indicated that Australia would be sending 600 troops to the Middle East ahead of possible combat operations against Islamic State (IS) militants in Iraq based on a specific US request bbc.com.
He has confirmed that the initial deployment would be to the United Arab Emirates. He has also added that the force would include up to eight Super Hornet fighter jets and was part of "an international coalition" and not simply an "American-Australian operation".
It may be noted that nearly 40 countries, including 10 Arab states, have signed up to a US-led plan to tackle the extremist group and France is hosting a regional security summit. US Secretary of State John Kerry has already arrived in Paris after a four-day tour of the Middle East trying to drum up support for action against IS.
French President Francois Hollande will welcome diplomats from up to 20 countries for a conference on Iraqi security and, these talks will come ahead of a UN Security Council meeting next week and a heads of state meeting at the UN General Assembly later this month.
US President Barack Obama had presented a strategy to fight the Islamic State (IS) militants group in both Iraq and Syria.
Australia has raised its terrorism threat level from medium to high and security officials are believed to be worried about the growing number of Australians who are "working with, connected to or inspired by" Islamist groups.
