This has been reported in dailymail.co.uk dated 24 September 2015.
Saudi Arabia's civil defense service has indicated that rescue operations were under way after the stampede in Mina. It seems there were nearly two million pilgrims were taking part in the last major rite of the Hajj.
The Hajj is among the five pillars of Islam and every capable Muslim is expected to perform it at least once in his lifetime.
The tragedy occurred in a morning surge of pilgrims at the intersection of streets 204 and 223 when the faithful were making their way toward a large structure overlooking the columns. Consequent to the stampede, over 220 rescue vehicles and some 100,000 police and members of the emergency services were deployed to try and ease the congestion and provide alternative exit routes.
May the souls of the departed rest in peace.
