Huge rat-size spiders invade Cheshire – residents in panic

Residents of Macclesfield in Cheshire are in panic after giant spiders, some of them as big as rats, have invaded their homes. Reports of these specimens in Britain's homes have suddenly rocketed probably because the creatures try to escape the cold weather outside.
This has been reported in dailymail.co.uk dated 23 September 2015.
In the opinion of experts, the warm and wet summer has led to explosion in the size of the arachnids that are now creeping indoors. Local residents have reported seeing huge spiders in their homes over the last week.
One of them has taken a picture of a huge spider estimated to be having a six or seven-inch leg span – it was found in the spare bedroom. The bite of these giant house spiders is similar to the sting of a bee and it can even pierce the skin.
Claire Rind, an expert in invertebrate neurobiology from Newcastle University, has warned that Britain is seeing 'particularly big' house spiders at the moment. Her reasons are a rather nice warm and wet summer which have given rise to plenty of insects and other invertebrates that the spiders usually prey on.
