Theater in Lviv becmes a makeshift refugee camp
A theater in Lviv has become a shelter for refugees of Ukraine
The invasion of Ukraine by Russia has devastated the cities. Les Kurbas Theatre is a theater described as a cultural gem of the city of Lviv. However, right now, it has become a shelter for displaced Ukrainians who are trying to flee from the fighting in Kyiv, Kharkiv and beyond. The city is gradually becoming a city of refugees as people keep entering and leaving. The city is in the west of Ukraine and there is a train line to Poland.
The Les Kurbas Theatre is now a place where the people are arriving. They are in search of a shelter. One of them was a woman who had travelled here from Kharkiv. It was a difficult journey for her as she had no other alternative but to spend many nights sleeping outdoors. Some others like her stayed in the basement, some in the metro station. Everyone was under stress. It was a torture for the children. They did not know what they were going through and where they would end up.
