This has been reported in news.sky.com dated 15 August 2016.
The police was pelted with bottles and rocks and there were shots while a number of businesses were also set on fire and four officers were hurt in the clashes - there were 17 arrests. The violence was after a petrol station and police car were set alight.
It seems that the 23-year-old man was shot after he turned towards an officer, who was also black, with a gun in his hand. Based on the silent video from the unidentified officer's body camera, he was within lawful bounds. The attacker ran "a few dozen feet" and turned towards the officer while holding a gun in his hand. He was even raising up with it. When asked to drop the weapon, he failed to comply.
This unrest is the latest in a series of disturbances to hit US cities that included Baton Rouge, Dallas, and Ferguson, Missouri - these were due to fatal police shootings of black men. Incidentally, police in Milwaukee have earlier been at the center of controversy after an officer shot dead a mentally ill black man in 2014.
