Six women vanish from Ohio – suspected to be victims of serial killing

There are fears that a serial killer is on the loose in Chillicothe, Ohio since six women have gone missing from this city – their bodies have been recovered from streams and creeks last year. One of them was shot in the head. The FBI is investigating these cases. Moreover, five of them had children and one was pregnant.

As revealed by the Ross County Sheriff's Department – it is a small community and, in view of the number of females who have gone missing, and then the recovery of the bodies there are doubts on whether these are the work of a serial killer.
It seems most of the women had a history of drug use, and some of them had reportedly worked as prostitutes to pay for their drug habits.

43-year-old man of Indiana admits to serial killing of at least seven women in Gary

43-year-old Darren Vann of Gary, Indiana, was convicted of a sex offense in Texas in 2009 and his admission to the slaying of one woman in Indiana led the police to the grisly discovery of six other bodies nzherald.co.nz – three of the bodies were on the same block.

It was the death of 19-year-old Afrikka Hardy, a prostitute, whose body was found at a motel – she had been strangled. As per the police, she had arranged to meet Vann at the motel through a Chicago-area website and the death was discovered when someone tried to reach her "was provided suspicious text responses that she believed to be from the suspect while he was still inside the motel room."
Gary in Indiana is located 30 miles southeast of Chicago and was once a thriving steel town and the birthplace of Michael Jackson but over a period of time its population has shrunk and its poverty rate hovers around 40 per cent. Thousands of the homes are abandoned, many of them are often on the same streets where other homes are tidy and well-kept.

During investigations, the police believe the slayings of seven women whose bodies were found over the weekend could be the work of a serial killer, and that the suspect has told them his victims might go back 20 years.

Thiago Rocha had embarked on a killing spree in the central state of Goias, where he worked as a guard at a maternity and infant hospital and, he has been described by Chief of Police Deusny Aparecido as a "cold person" and "killed out of anger". It seems the 39 victims included young, homeless people and homosexuals.

Serial killer Jack the Ripper unmasked after 126-years

Serial killer Jack the Ripper was responsible for at least five grisly murders in Whitechapel in East London during the autumn of 1888 and, till now, no one knew his real identity dailymail.co.uk. However, thanks to modern day technologies, it has now been revealed beyond reasonable doubt that one of the six key suspects usually cited in connection with the Ripper’s reign of terror was the actual killer.
The confirmation has come from DNA analysis of blood from a shawl found by the body of Catherine Eddowes, one of the Ripper’s victims.
Its analysis has shown DNA from the blood of the woman as well as DNA from the killer.,br> This came about because of the shawl which had been put up for an auction in March 2007, in an auction house in Bury St Edmunds. A businessman Russell Edwards, 48, bought the item and enlisted the help of Dr Jari Louhelainen, a world-renowned expert in analyzing genetic evidence from historical crime scenes.
Using cutting-edge techniques, Dr Louhelainen was able to extract 126-year-old DNA from the material and compare it to DNA from descendants of the slain woman Catherine Eddowes and the suspect – they proved a perfect match.
Incidentally, the long line of men believed to be Jack the Ripper included Prince Albert Victor, Edward VII’s son, allegedly driven by syphilis-induced madness, Sir William Gull, Queen Victoria’s doctor, painter Walter Sickert, a Jewish shoemaker, a polish barber who later poisoned three women - and Aaron Kosminski, a Polish lunatic who was the real Ripper.

It was murder most foul and not one but seven of them in the span of a few days in Los Angeles – the police had no clue except the weapon that had been used by the killer and his getaway vehicle news.sky.com.
The 34-year-old man Alexander Hernandez was initially arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty but, it seems, his cruelty extends to human beings – he has been accused of being a prolific serial killer in Los Angeles.
He has been charged with murder of Gildardo Morales, a pickup truck driver, in San Fernando and is also the sole suspect in a shooting where three people were killed - apparently at random - in the space of an hour.
The alleged killing spree began when a woman and a couple were left critically injured after being fired at in separate incidents.
There is no known connection established till now between the victims, but a 70-strong task force in the LAPD has been able to link the attacks after similar descriptions were made about the weapon and getaway vehicle used.
The police are yet to charge him with their deaths but when arrested, he had a pistol-grip shotgun in his possession – the police believe this weapon was used in the attacks.
Incidentally, the suspect has four prior convictions, some of which involved prison time. These convictions included sentences for the possession of firearms and methamphetamine.

75-year-old serial killer who killed 17 women dies in Anchorage prison

Robert Hansen was a self-confessed serial killer and rapist nzherald.co.nz . He was convicted in 1984 after he confessed to killing 17 women, most of them were dancers and prostitutes, during a 12-year span. The Anchorage baker had also confessed to raping another 30 women in that time.
He used to abduct women and hunt them down in the Alaska wilderness in the 1970s – it was a sort of perverted game to him and he was convicted of just four of the murders in a deal that spared him having to go to trial 17 times.
He died at Alaska Regional Hospital after being in declining health for the past year, Alaska Department of Corrections spokeswoman Sherrie Daigle said. He was 75-years-old at the time of his death. He had been serving a 461-year sentence in Alaska at the time of his death.
Hansen was nicknamed "the Butcher Baker," he owned a bakery in a downtown mini-mall in the 1970s and 1980s and lived across town with his wife and children, who knew nothing of his other life.
Incidentally, Hansen was the subject of a 2013 film titled, "The Frozen Ground," which starred Nicolas Cage as an Alaska State Trooper who was investigating the slayings. Actor John Cusack portrayed Hansen.
