ISIS shoots dead 10 doctors who refused to treat wounded jihadists

#ISIS #jihadists #Mosul #Tikrit #AshCarter #SouthKorea That the ISIS hates refusal has once again come to light when they shot dead 10 doctors who did not agree to treat wounded jihadists in Iraq. This has been reported in dailymail.co.uk dated 9 April 2015.
The summary execution by the bloodthirsty militants happened in a location near Mosul when the militants fighting for the Islamic State in Iraq savagely executed the doctors who refused to treat wounded members of the terrorist organization. The location was the battle-ravaged area 15 miles south of the extremists' northern Iraqi stronghold Mosul. Video released has captured the moment the fighters killed the doctors with a bullet to the head.
As per information, the ISIS jihadists had been fighting local groups in the Hammam al-Alil area and a number of them sustained injuries that necessitated medical treatment. But, the doctors refused saying that they do not support the terror group's activities. That led to their execution.
Observers have described the city of Mosul as being a massive open-air prison. The residents here are subjected to barbaric torture at the hands of the ISIS terrorists. The jihadists had, reportedly, executed 60 Sunni tribal fighters in Anbar province of Iraq on charges of collaborating with the Iraqi security forces.
Iraqi Army soldiers and the Iran-backed volunteer Shiite militias have joined up with the Iraqi regime to have successfully pushed back the ISIS from important towns and villages. The liberation of Tikrit was an example. Tikrit was the birthplace of Saddam Hussein and a strategically important location and the Iraqi Army will now try to regain control of Mosul and eventually force ISIS out of the country.
U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter has indicated that the U.S. has made progress against ISIS in Iraq but was unable to make any prediction on how long the fight will take. He was interacting at a joint news conference with his South Korean counterpart and admitted that he could not say with confidence that it was the beginning of the end for ISIS in Iraq.

At least 38 killed in car bombings in Iraq

At least 38 persons are believed to have been killed in two car bombings in Iraq foxnews.com– in one of the attacks, a suicide attacker drove a Humvee into a checkpoint that was manned by Iraqi troops and pro-government Shiite militiamen.
The attacks, apparently engineered by Islamic State militants, took place on the outskirts of the Sunni town of Jurf al-Skhar. Here, the suicide bomber rammed his explosives-laden Humvee into the checkpoint and killed at least 24 people and wounded another 25. Most of the dead were reported to be members of the Shiite militia.
While no one has claimed responsibility for the attack, the location of Jurf al-Sakhar is 30 miles south of Baghdad and the bombing bore all the hallmarks of an attack by the Islamic State group.
This could be true because the Islamic State group militants, who had captured it in July last, lost control of the town when Iraqi soldiers and the Shiite militia retook it from the Sunni extremist group.
Incidentally, Jurf al-Sakhar is part of a predominantly Sunni ribbon of territory that runs just south of Baghdad and lies on a road usually taken by Shite pilgrims to the holy Shiite city of Karbala further south. Pilgrims would be following the route next week to commemorate the death of the Prophet Muhammad's grandson, Imam Hussein -- one of the most revered Shiite martyrs.
Moreover, on Monday night, a car bomb blast near a line of shops and restaurants in downtown Baghdad killed 14 people and wounded 23.

Drying up of oil money forces ISIS to seek truce with moderate rebels in Syria

As a result of drying up of precious oil money, the jihadists from the Islamic State have reportedly agreed for a ceasefire with Syrian rebels in a suburb of the capital Damascus dailymail.co.uk. This important dead was agreed between ISIS and moderate and Islamist rebels in Hajar al-Aswad, south of the city, as per reports of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
It seems the ISIS are in dire straits since revenues from black-market oil sales have nosedived following flight of key engineers from the oil fields that had been captured by the terrorists in Iraq and Syria.
The terrorist group has seen revenues from its illegally-held oil fields halved after many workers abandoned the facilities. As per some estimates, the revenue had been nearly $3million per day in July from oil fields that they had seized during the conflict.
According to the deal arrived at, 'the two parties will respect a truce until a final solution is found and they promise not to attack each other because they consider the principal enemy to be the Nussayri regime.' Nussayri indicates the Alawite sect, an offshoot of Shiite Islam to which President Bashar al-Assad belongs.
Incidentally, the ISIS had captured oil fields at Sasan, Ajeel and Sadid in Iraq apart from in Omar in Syria while large refineries have also been captured at Fallujah, Aksas and Tikrit – many of the staff were persuaded to stay on with pay rises or 'at the barrel of a gun.'

Iraqi security forces break 2-month-long siege of Shiite town of Amirli

Iraqi security forces have made an important breakthrough - along with Shiite militiamen, it broke a nearly two-month siege by Islamic State militants on the northern Shiite Turkmen town of Amirli foxnews.com.
This has been conveyed by Army spokesman Lt. Gen. Qassim al-Moussawi – he has revealed that the operation began at dawn on Sunday and the forces entered the town shortly after midday.
He has indicated that the forces suffered "some causalities," but did not give a specific number and added that the fighting was "still ongoing to clear the surrounding villages."
In his opinion, breaking the siege was a "big achievement and an important victory" for all those involved right from the Iraqi army, elite troops, Kurdish fighters and Shiite militias.
It seems a total of nearly 15,000 Shiite Turkmens had been stranded in the farming community located some 105 north of Baghdad. Instead of fleeing from the attacks of the Islamic State, these Shiite Turkmens stayed on and fortified their town with trenches and armed positions. Its water and electricity have been cut off since June and surrounded by militants since mid-July.
Approximately half of the town's population is age 15 and under while many others are elderly, sick or wounded.
