The identity of the suspected shooter is not yet established. However, the police described him as a man in his early 20s. His motive is also not known. This was the latest such shooting to happen at a U.S. school. Only last May, a gunman killed 19 children and 2 adults in Uvalde, Texas. At that time, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said lawmakers must take measures to stop gun violence. In her words - “Every day that the Senate fails to send an assault-weapons ban to the president’s desk or waits to take any other common-sense action is a day too late for families and communities impacted by gun violence." Such violence leads to not only the death of innocents but to traumatic experiences for those who witness the sight of blood and bodies writhing in pain all around them.

43 students missing in Iguala, Mexico, after an outbreak of violence

43 students have been reported missing following shootings in the Mexican city of Iguala – in this outbreak of violence, six people have died and another 25 are wounded news.sky.com . Initially, 57 students had been reported to be missing after a bout of violence in the town of Iguala which is one of the country's poorest states. But, 14 have since returned alive.
It seems in one of the incidents, municipal police had opened fire on three buses that had been seized by the radical students, who are known to hijack buses. The police had, afterwards, asked them to go home after a fundraising drive but, three students were killed.
Some of the survivors, who are under armed guard in hospital, have claimed that local police officers had taken away dozens of students in police cruisers and they have not been seen since then.
Prosecutors have been able to link 22 officers to the violence and the six killings because ballistics tests had been able to link their weapons to the shootings. These officers are being investigated over these disappearances which could be linked to organized crime.
In the opinion of Ramon Navarette, president of Guerrero's Human Rights Commission, the 43 missing students might still be alive and could probably be in hiding like the 14 students who have reappeared.
