ISIS harvesting organs of healthy individuals to treat the injured jihadists

Doctors who have joined ISIS are busy harvesting organs and draining the blood of healthy captives to treat the injured jihadists in Raqqa, Syria. This has been revealed by a former prisoner. He has said that surgeons for the terror group removed kidneys and corneas from prisoners and treated them as 'blood banks' for wounded fighters.
This has been reported in dailymail.co.uk dated 30 September 2015.
The man has also explained how those not strong enough for organ donation were forced to endure daily torture at the hands of barbaric IS militants in Raqqa. He managed to escape four months ago during the confusion and dust created after the prison suffered a direct hit during a counter terrorism raid. He was lucky to escape because the ISIS members fired at them.
There could be some truth in the organ harvesting allegations because, Iraqi ambassador Mohamed Alhakim had earlier claimed that dozens of bodies with surgical incisions and missing body parts had been discovered in shallow mass graves near Mosul.

Masked gunmen storm luxury hotel in Tripoli and kill 8 persons

#corinthiahotel #tripoli #lybia #gunmen Masked gunmen struck the Corinthia luxury hotel, which sits along the Mediterranean Sea, in Tripoli and killed 8 persons – five of them were foreigners and the other three were security guards. The hotel usually has Italian, British and Turkish guests but was largely empty when the attack happened.
It is understood that the Tripoli branch of Islamic State (ISIS) has claimed responsibility, the Site Intelligence monitoring group said.
The attack included a car bombing and, Mahmoud Hamza, commander of the Special Deterrent Force, has indicated that the situation was under control. He could not, however, confirm the whereabouts of the gunmen.
There were rumors about hostages being taken but that has not been confirmed. Two commercial landmark towers located behind the hotel were evacuated due to security concerns.
Incidentally, this hotel is where the militia-backed prime minister, Omar al-Hassi, usually resides – he was not in the hotel when the attack took place.
In the opinion of experts, the attack was designed for maximum impact because it comes at a time when the UN is beginning a new round of Libya peace talks in Geneva.
The Pentagon had warned in December about the presence of ISIS in Libya and that its influence was growing. Also, that there was evidence that it had set up training camps. In the last nearly six months of fighting, more than 1000 have died while some of the towns are in ruins and over 400,000 people have been displaced.

Iraq trying to confirm if al-Baghdadi has been killed in air strike

The whole world wants to see the last of ISIL chief Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi and, with rumors floating around that he has been killed in airstrikes by coalition warplanes, Iraq was investigating the matter. The coalition warplanes had been targeting the group’s leaders.
In case the rumors turn out to be true, it would be a major victory for the US-led coalition of countries who are relentlessly carrying out airstrikes against ISIL and providing assistance to Iraqi forces who are fighting to regain large areas of Iraq that the militants have overrun.
Already President Barack Obama has unveiled plans to send up to 1,500 more US troops to Iraq to advise and train the country’s forces, deepening Washington’s commitment to the open-ended war against ISIL. As President Obama has said, it was time to go on the offensive against the militants after blunting their advance.
Regarding rumors about al-Baghdadi, a senior Iraqi intelligence official said there was no “accurate information” on whether he was killed but that authorities were investigating.
US Central Command, which oversees American forces in the Middle East, on Saturday said that coalition aircraft had carried out a “series of airstrikes” against “a gathering of [ISIL] leaders near Mosul” but there was no confirmation on whether [ISIL] leader Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi was among those present.
General Nicholas Houghton, the chief of staff of the British armed forces, has said that it will take some days to have absolute confirmation. On whether the ISIL leader has been killed.
Incidentally, Washington has offered a $10 million reward for his capture.
It may be noted that of the five main Al Qaeda offshoots in Afghanistan, Syria, Somalia, the Sahel and Yemen, none has recognized the authority of Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi - at the end of June he had proclaimed the establishment of a caliphate straddling Iraq and Syria, and had also proclaimed himself as “leader for Muslims everywhere”.

Obama agrees to send 1500 additional troops to Iraq

The clock is turning a full circle for US President Barack Obama. When he took over as President of the USA, the US troops in Iraq were counting the days when they would return to the comfort of their homes as assured by Barack Obama. He had promised to evacuate Iraq by end 2011 and he did just that.
But, the present global scenario is forcing his hand because of the growing threats of the ISIS and he has agreed to send an additional 1500 troops to Iraq. This deployment would amount to doubling the current deployment. The Pentagon has decided to brand this deployment as Operation Inherent Resolve and the new troops would extend support to the roughly 1,600 US personnel already in Iraq.
The White House has indicated that the new forces would not be in combat roles and has asked Congress for $5.6bn (£3.5bn) to fund the mission against Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. The request includes $1.6bn for an "Iraq Train and Equip Fund".
The US has reiterated that its troops in northern Iraq do not have any fighting role and their main purpose is to help train national and Kurdish forces to battle the Islamic State jihadists.
The White House has clarified that as a part of the strategy for strengthening partners on the ground, the President has authorized the deployment of up to 1,500 additional US military personnel in a non-combat role – they would be involved to train, advise and assist Iraqi Security Forces, including Kurdish forces.
The plan is that the new troops would operate at military facilities beyond Baghdad and Irbil, where they have hitherto been based and the military would set up several training sites across Iraq to instruct 12 Iraqi brigades.

Britain to send Apache helicopters to Iraq to fight the ISIS

Britain has taken a decision to go in for a more active role in Iraq and would be sending Apache helicopters to Iraq to fight the ISIS dailymail.co.uk. Till now, only the Royal Air Force had been involved in air strikes against the terror group but, once Apaches, piloted by the Army Air Corps is dispatched to Iraq, it would mean the first British Army involvement in a conflict role in the country.
The reason for sending Apache attack helicopters is because jihadis are able to move around the battlefield quickly since they use social media and messaging application WhatsApp. Therefore, warplanes that are flying at 20,000-30,000ft have to react to moving targets.
It is felt that UK troops would require ‘something that can act very quickly on intelligence’ and Apache helicopters are most suitable for such jobs since they can to fly close to the ground and at a slow speed, hence would be more effective at finding opposition troops on the ground.
Incidentally, Britain had a fleet of eight Apaches in Afghanistan and Prince Harry was among the co-pilots there during 2012.

Fear mounts that ISIS have used chemical weapons against Kurds in Kobani

Doctors who are treating injured people of Kobani have discovered wounds that could have resulted from exposure to chemical weapons and there are fears that the ISIS have laid their hands on such weapons theguardian.com.
Patients who have arrived for treatment have blisters, complain of burning eyes apart from breathing difficulties – such symptoms are usually associated with chemical weapons. Moreover, the patients reported a bad smell which also produced allergic reaction.
It is believed that Islamic State (ISIS) have obtained stocks of ageing but still potent chemical weapons when it seized Iraqi army bases where they were stored. It seems in June, ISIS had taken control of a sprawling complex in the heart of Saddam Hussein’s chemical weapons program.
Moreover, there are doubts that chemical weapons might have been buried or abandoned elsewhere and had escaped the eyes of the watchdogs and were not destroyed by US forces or the Iraqi military.
Incidentally, stocks manufactured prior to 1991 are dirty, corroded and not always easy to identify or use, but are dangerous and can still cause serious injury.

Gunmen strike terror in Ottawa – Parliament attacked

In, what appeared to be coordinated attacks, a gunman attacked the Ottawa Parliament and the National War Memorial. The first shots rang out in the morning at the war memorial in Confederation Square located yards from the parliament nzherald.co.nz. The gunman then ran into the nearby parliament building, where he was shot and killed by police. The gunman has been identified.
At that time, a cabinet meeting was under way in Parliament and the Canadian Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, and the leaders of the two main opposition parties left the building safely.
A second shooting was reported at around the same time at the Rideau Centre shopping mall, also in central Ottawa - police said they could not confirm this.
The incidents are significant since these come one day after Canada raised its terrorism-alert level from "low" to "medium" following the death of another soldier – this soldier was killed in a hit-and-run attack in Quebec by a man who is suspected to have jihadist sympathies.
Incidentally, Canada has decided to join the US-led coalition to combat ISIS, and Canadian aircraft are due to participate in the bombing campaign.

London police carries out preventive arrests of ISIS beheading team

The London police have arrested four men from different locations in the city in an ongoing investigation into Islamist-related terrorism foxnews.com.
As per information released by the Scotland Yard, the men, who are in their early 20s, have been arrested after warrants were executed at various addresses. One of the men was tasered, but did not require medical attention.
Sources have indicated that the men were involved in an ISIS plot for British jihadist – the plan was to behead people in the streets of London within the next few days.
The men have been arrested on the charge of Preparation or Instigation of acts of Terrorism, which falls under the Terrorism Act.
Incidentally, there were no shots were fired during the arrests.

US Army warns that ISIS plans to slaughter relatives of US Army personnel

The US Army has warned its military personnel that ISIS has issued orders to its supporters to search social media for addresses of their relatives and slaughter them dailymail.co.uk.
The warnings have been issued through an intelligence bulletin after the Army Threat Integration Center ARTIC recognized the potential danger – this ARTIC issues early warnings of threats. Through this bulletin, it has warned military personnel and their loved ones about ISIS calling supporters to target their homes and suggested that they take precautions.
The ARCTIC is obviously worried because, given the continued rhetoric being issued by ISIL's media services and supporters through various social media platforms, there are possibilities of attacks.
As per intelligence reports, the ISIS, has threatened violence against the U.S. following air strikes carried out in Iraq in August and in Syria in September. ISIS has already shared grisly videos showing the beheadings of American journalists and a British aid worker. Moreover, its supporters are resorting to social media to threaten the U.S. and U.S. interests with violence in response.
The warning to the U.S. Amy through ARTIC comes after House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers had warned that the group is using social media as a 'recruiting tool'. As per some of the estimates, the terror network is recruiting as many as 3,400 people per month through their social media recruiting efforts.

Two can play at the game – US pounds ISIS oil wells and ISIS sets free 150 prisoners

The strategy of US and allies to pound oil wells that account for the major source of finance of the ISIS seems to have hit the mark and terrorists who are fighting for ISIS in Syria are believed to have freed 150 prisoners in the group's de facto capital Raqqa dailymail.co.uk.
The air forces of Saudi Arabia and UAE have carried out a majority of the coordinated attacks by targeting 12 'modular oil refineries' in eastern Syria that have the ability to extract thousands of barrels of crude oil a day.
Much of this oil is smuggled into neighboring oil-producing regions in Turkey and Iraqi Kurdistan at reduced price and then sold of mainstream markets. In the process, ISIS has become the wealthiest terror group of all time with an estimated $1billion in cash reserves.
The ISIS fighters who set the prisoners free want to prevail upon America and its Arab allies to end the campaign of airstrikes. The desperate militants have reportedly released the captives overnight in the belief that the move could encourage an anti-ISIS coalition of nations to focus their raids away from Raqqa. The 150 prisoners who have been set free by the group are all believed to have been arrested in recent weeks and could be locals accused of committing minor crimes.
Incidentally, Raqqa is the stronghold of ISIS and is widely thought to be a base for the group's senior figures - including leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi - and where British hostages Alan Henning and John Cantlie are being held. The news comes as a fresh wave of airstrikes from the United States and its Arab allies hit ISIS oil refineries overnight, killing at least 14 militants and striking at the heart of the terror group's funding.
ISIS generates up to $2million a day from the sale of oil, employing highly trained engineers to extract thousands of barrels a day from the vast swaths of Syria and Iraq under the terror group's control.

US and allies target sources of oil supply, the backbone of finance for ISIS

Cripple the ISIS by striking at the root of their finances is the strategy that the US and its allies have decided upon foxnews.com. Accordingly, they have unleashed a new round of airstrikes against Islamic State militants in eastern Syria by targeting a dozen small oil refineries.
As explained by U.S. officials, the objective was to target a dozen so-called “modular oil refineries”-- essentially small, ISIS-built refineries that the terror group uses to fuel its vehicles and to fund its operations. It seems as indicated by a Department of Defense official, the ISIS made roughly a $2 million a day profit from the modular oil refineries, which produced 300 to 500 barrels a day.
It seems a total of 13 airstrikes were conducted by both piloted aircraft and drones and, as per initial feedback, the strikes were successful. The intention was to leave the refineries largely intact, so that they eventually could be used again, but cripple the ISIS by destroying the support facilities.
The U.S. Central Command has revealed that, till date, it has carried out a total of 198 airstrikes against ISIS in Iraq and 20 in Syria – with the help of partner nations.

US-Arab nations joint operation against ISIS shows that it is not America’s fight alone

The simultaneous airstrikes by US and Arab nations on militant targets in Syria overnight were "only the beginning" of a "credible and sustainable, persistent" coalition effort to degrade and ultimately destroy ISIS militants and other extremist groups nzherald.co.nz.
This joint venture, as indicated by US President Barack Obama, “makes it clear to the world this is not America's fight alone."
The airstrikes employed US Tomahawk missiles, B1 bombers, F16, F18 and F22 strike fighters and drones and was backed by support from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Jordan and the UAE - a coalition of nations – they have all agreed to assist with the destruction of ISIS that has become a global threat.
The airstrikes were launched from land bases in the Middle East, while the F18s were launched from the aircraft carrier USS George HW Bush, which is in the Persian Gulf. The Tomahawks were fired from the USS Arleigh Burke, a guided missile destroyer in the Red Sea.
The first wave of strikes lasted for 90 minutes and blasts occurred across Raqqa - the de facto capital of the Islamic state. Among the targets hit were the house of the governor of Raqqa, the national hospital and the Equestrian Club. British Prime Minister David Cameron has supported the actions taken by the US and Arab allies against ISIS and has released a statement saying he will now discuss what contribution the UK can make.

Iran tries to exploit the situation created by ISIS

US President Barack Obama wanted to take Iran into the folds for battling the ISIS and Iran wants to exploit the situation created by the ISIS news.sky.com – it wants concessions in its nuclear programs from the US before joining hands in the fight against the ISIS.
However, the Obama administration has rejected the proposal from Iran to cooperate in the fight against Islamic State (IS) militants in exchange for nuclear program concessions. As White House spokesman Josh Earnest has clarified, nuclear talks with Tehran were "entirely separate" from Barack Obama's attempts to build a coalition to destroy IS, also known as ISIS or ISIL. Hence, the United States will not be in the position of trading aspects of Iran's nuclear program to secure its support to take on ISIL.
It seems senior Iranian officials had indicated in a section of the media that Iran was seeking flexibility on its uranium enrichment program in exchange for Tehran's cooperation in fighting IS.

Nigerian forces kill leader of Boko Haram along with 200 soldiers

It was a major victory for Nigerian forces when they succeeded in killing a dreaded commander of Islamist extremist group Boko Haram along with 200 other militants of the group theguardian.com.
As indicated by a Nigerian army officer, the feared commander known only as Amir was among the dead after a battle on Friday in Konduga town located some 35-Km from Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state and birthplace of the extremist group.
A Boko Haram video journalist and a suicide bomber were also killed but there were no military casualties, according to the officer and a civilian self-defense group that fights alongside the soldiers.
Boko Haram had captured a string of towns in recent weeks stretching over 320-Km alongside Nigeria’s north-east border with Cameroon in a new campaign to create an Islamic caliphate – it was trying to mimic the ISIS group in Syria and Iraq. Moreover, the Boko Haram extremists have also attacked a town and villages across the border in Cameroon, but the Cameroonian troops beat them off and forced them back across the border into Nigeria.

Rebellion in the ranks of ISIS – disillusioned fighters marched to punishment centers

It appears rebellion is brewing in the ranks of the ISIS as a group of five Britons, three Frenchmen, two Germans and two Belgians were marched by ISIS leaders to the punishment centers in Raqqa, Syria dailymail.co.uk. Their misconduct was of complaints that they were spending their time fighting other rebel forces instead of the government of Bashar al-Assad and were, therefore, concerned that they were killing fellow Muslims.
They have realized a bit late in life that jihadists like them are stuck with one-way-tickets to ISIS and there is no escape for them.,br> It seems the men were stripped of their weapons and marched to the punishment center.
Observers feel that because the US has up the ante, the ISIS leaders are in a quandary – till now, they had operated an open door policy which has allowed around 250 Britons to return but the beginning of US air attacks has made militant commanders apprehensive that those who return home could become spies and direct attacks.
Obviously, the earlier welcoming atmosphere for Western militants has now changed to one of suspicion as the terrorist group begins to turn on its own fighters.

Britain gifts £1.6million worth machine guns and ammunition to Kurdish forces in Iraq

Britain is gifting heavy machine guns and ammunition worth nearly £1.6million to help Kurdish forces fighting ISIS in Iraq dailymail.co.uk. This is based on deliberations at the NATO summit in Wales where Prime Minister David Cameron and President Barack Obama had prepared the ground for multi-national air strikes against Islamic State and for sending troops to form a NATO training force in Iraq.
Moreover, in Britain, cross-party support for joining US military action was increasing. The weapons being gifted would be used by the Kurdish forces to battle the extremist army, which is believed to include hundreds of Britons.
In the opinion of Defense Secretary Michael Fallon, the Kurdish forces are comparatively less well equipped than the ISIS, hence Britain is trying to help them defend themselves, protect citizens and push back advances.
This gifting of military equipment to the Government of Iraq (GoI), including the Kurdish regional government, is being undertaken at the request of the GoI.
David Cameron has said if President Obama announces further military action against the jihadists beyond the air strikes that have taken place and Britain is required to join in that action, the British MPs would have to a vote on the decision. However, the Government could take action without the approval of Parliament in case of an immediate humanitarian catastrophe or if British interest are threatened or needs urgent protection.

US troops in Iraq appear to be a confused lot since US policy is still not clear

The whole world looks upon US president Barack Obama to take a decision on how best to tackle the growing menace of the ISIS – the President himself is not in favor of US boots on the ground in Iraq while vice President Joe Biden has vowed to chase the murders of the two US journalists “to the gates of Hell" foxnews.com. The question bothering the US troops who have arrived in Iraq is how they'll accomplish the mission when they cannot even leave the front gate of their base.
The position of President Obama is a delicate one – he had received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009 and had himself ordered the evacuation of US troops from Iraq and had decided never again to enter into such a situation. How, then, can he order another direct confrontation with terrorists on a foreign soil?
However, with the beheading of two US journalists and threats of ISIS attacking the US, the President has to decide one way or the other. He has to judge what is best for not just the US bit for the whole world and act accordingly.
The Department of Defense has made its position clear – it will continue to plan and prepare further military options depending on necessity, and we will remain ready to protect the US diplomats, its citizens, and its interests in Iraq. It will also continue to work with the Iraqi government to counter the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.
Moreover, with reports of 11 commercial aircraft missing from ‘terrorist-held’ Tripoli airport ahead of 9/11 anniversary metro.co.uk, the situation is one of worry – it seems the planes were being held by a group called the Masked Men Brigade, and it plans to use them in future terror attacks.

Obama to send 350 additional military personnel to Iraq to protect US interests

US President Barack Obama is dead against any further US boots on the ground in Iraq but, he has agreed to send across approximately 350 additional military personnel to protect U.S. diplomatic facilities and workers in Baghdad foxnews.com. The White House has clarified that the personnel will not serve in any combat role, and are fulfilling a request from the State Department for more protection as the country fights an insurgency from the Islamic State militant group, also known as ISIS or ISIL.
In the opinion of the White House, such a team of additional personnel will be able to provide a “more robust, sustainable security force” and will also allow previously deployed personnel to leave the country. The US will continue to support the Iraqi government against the terror group ISIS because it “poses a threat not only to Iraq, but to the broader Middle East and U.S. personnel and interests in the region.”
Pentagon Press Secretary Rear Admiral John Kirby has elaborated that Obama's authorization will result in a net increase of approximately 350 military personnel – while 405 personnel will be sent to Baghdad, 55 of earlier batches will leave, leading to the net increase.
Due to the latest deployment, the total number of U.S. forces responsible for providing security support in Baghdad will be approximately 820 and, once the fresh forces arrive, the figure would rise to 1213.

Obama warned – ISIS plans to target the US and kill with abandon

After having taken control of vast areas of Syria and Iraq, the ISIS want to surge ahead on their bloodthirsty mission and have got the US and western Europe in their sights dailymail.co.uk .
Security experts have, therefore, urged the US President Barack Obama to take decisive action against the Islamic State because of serious concerns that the terror group will target America.
Obama has been told in no uncertain terms that the US is facing a growing threat from militants, who have tasted blood and would likely 'kill with abandon'.
It seems Texas Senator 43-year-old Ted Cruz, a potential 2016 presidential candidate, feels that America should deal with the threat of ISIS by bombing them 'back to the Stone Age'. He explains that since they want to go back in time and reject modernity, Americans should help them to return back to the Stone Age.
The threat could include Americans who have trained with Islamic State fighters and there are hundreds of such Islamic State-trained Americans who can return to the country with their U.S. passports and create havoc.

British Prime Minister warns that Britain is in the sight of ISIS fanatics

British Prime Minister David Cameron is a panic-stricken leader because he feels that Britain is in the sights of ISIS fanatics – accordingly, there would be more armed police to patrol the streets of Britain in order to counter the threat that is posed by the fanatics who are returning from Iraq and Syria dailymail.co.uk.
The Prime Minister has warned that the return of hundreds of murderous extremists posed a major threat to the security of Britain, the threat was greater than that posed by either the al-Qaeda or the IRA. He also cautioned that Islamist terrorists cannot be 'appeased' and needed to be faced down.
His comments came even as Theresa May announced the official terror threat level had been raised to ‘severe’ – the second-highest state – for the first time in three years.
Among the various steps proposed to be introduced are an increase in high-profile police patrols, including the greater use of armed officers, particularly at airports and major railway stations. Moreover, ‘uncompromising’ new laws would be introduced to plug ‘gaps in our armory’ in dealing with the threat posed by Islamic State extremists. These would include enhanced powers to remove the passports of radicalized Muslims who seek to join the fighting in the Middle East. There are also proposals to remove the passports of extremists who have already gone abroad.
